Our Story
Skipping Stones Studio was founded on a simple belief: even a small story can create ripples that last. We craft narrative and purpose-driven films with visual intention and emotional depth—stories that stir something real, whether for the screen or for brand-forward commercial work.
The studio is led by John P. Livingston, an award-winning screenwriter, director, and producer originally from New York. With an MFA in Screenwriting from Regent University, John has built a body of work shaped by character, theme, and a deep respect for the people behind every story.
His work spans acclaimed short films and stage productions—including Sequela, Swing Shift, A Winter’s Passing, Rootless Tree, and Out of Order—recognized for their emotional resonance and distinct voice. John has collaborated with studios such as 24 Frames and Kimchi Productions, taught screenwriting for nonprofit arts programs, and served as a script doctor for film and television.
Alongside John is his wife, Heidi, a talented actor, director, and production designer whose creative vision influences both the studio’s narrative and commercial projects.
John has also authored multiple feature screenplays, with two projects currently in development: The Feast of St. Teagan and Iris of the Sea.
